Rachel. I am impressed , that you can have grasp all the different patterns in your head and them plait it.
It looks very good and it is fun. Personal I like the narow pattern in the middle and ind the bottom of the picture best, but is is a question about tast. Nevertheless - it look good

Flemming, no, not all patterns I keep.in my head yet! I do know a few now, but the ones with more steps I cannot yet remember. I can notice when I get it wrong now though and that's a huge step forward for me. I love that about whipmaking- there is always so much more to learn! Every pattern gives a different look.

Jyri, yessir, hook all the way for me. I have a much easier time getting it straight. It can be difficult at first, but it will show very quickly if you pull tighter on one side versus the other. The hook tells all truth about my plaiting, it has never lied and said the plaiting was straight when it isn't as long as I check my lines often.

Excellent Rachel.
Yep plaiting from a hook gives you instant feed back. I've had to back track a lot because of what it was showing me while plaiting.

I realy like your style of whipmaking. There are so many details on your whips that don't "jump into your face" when you look at them, but the closer you look, the more your whips reveal these stylish details!
