But not as happy as you yourself will be when you find that the finished whip performs so much better for all this labour! :)

Rachel, you got that right. :)

Mr. Robert, it will be a smile that nothing else can produce.
This whip is all ready so much better than my first one and it's all due to
the information and kind words of experience that I have received right here at Whip Basics.
There is no other place like it. I am so proud to be a member.
If there was a WB cap and T-shirt I would wear it every where.

Ron, perhaps Roy and Robby could reach some sort of agreement....

Thanks Roy. I think it will be ok.
The transition is looking very firm and it gradually let's up the further down the thong it goes.
I all ready have some thoughts about the binding on W3.

Good going Ron,
it's crucial that you don't lose your patience.
You're doing a super job right there and it's looking fantastic.
Take all the time you need and keep it tidy.
I'm quite excited about this build.

Looking good Ron, looking good. Does that block hurt the whip in any way, because if not im going to get one and use it to roll my whips too.

Brandon, it doesn't harm the whip, but I am going to glue some smooth plywood to the area that contacts the whip and either paint or clear coat the rest because the granular part of the block kind of comes off while you are rolling it.
It's like a coarse powder that I wipe off when I am finished.

Brandon, one more thing.
It's not nearly as rough as it looks it's just the angle of the photo.
It's relatively smooth on the flat side.

You should use gorilla glue. I had a skateboard ramp with concrete glued to the wood, the concrete broke rather that the glue failing. Strong stuff.

Today I am measuring and cutting the strands for the 16 plait overlay.
I am still not sure about any fancy plaiting with almost 40' for the longest strands makes it look very intimidating.

Is there a very simple pattern any of you could suggest ?
