This is the Gallery of "Exowhips" - Tyler Blake

This new Gallery replaces the former "Masters Gallery", which will work from now on as pure archive. Here you will find not only the work and art from folks who sell whips, but also from folks, who create their whips out of pure passion. And we have an additional gallery. It is called "The Gallery - Making of".

Thanks Ron! I'm totally apathetic about football, and around here people practically worship the seahawks so I was a little worried that my customer would want to chat about football...I couldn't nama a single player, never watched a game, nada. So I was grateful that all our discussion stayed whip-related :)

Thanks Philbert! THanks Rachel, yeah I like that blue, I want to do a blue and black one sometime!

Also, thanks on the knot Rachel- that means a lot to me because I find knots the most challenging thing :)

Rachel, you shall cause me to blush :)

Thanks so much Bobbi! :) I'm still over the moon about having this new found ability to have more variety- a 3-color whip and no black or white?! Unheard of! :P

Here is a set of 4 footers that I just sent to Denmark:

Image

These have 10 inch handles, other than that they're almost copies of a set I made years ago that the customer saw on my site and liked a lot. Do any of y'all ever get asked to copy your previous work?

Tyler, these are outstanding! Man, those knots!!!
These are beautiful!

Only three or four times have I been asked to copy previous whips. But I've not had a long making history yet.

Great looking pair Tyler. I love those knots. Do those weighted falls help with cracks on those really short whips? The most copy requests I get are on handles. Colors and patterns are usually unique.

Tyler, this mached pair is absolutely beatiful - my greates compliments to your work !!!

I am currently working on a copy of my previous work for the first time:

A customer who already bought a bullwhip from me had asked me to make a copy of the whip that I had given a local cutlery store owner as a "thank you" gift because the cutlery store owner has let him try out the "thank you whip". It's a 20 plait 7 footer - the only difference to the "thank you whip" are the colors: The original "thank you whip" has moss green and black colors and he ordered it to be all black. Other than that it's the exact same whip, same handle length, same transition, same handle pattern and same knots (I will post pictures as soon as I am done with the whip).

All the best

Ben, in my view, colours are great, but you can never go wrong with all black! :)

@ Robert Gage:

I agree - it creates a classical look and it looks like a leather whip from far away !!!

Thank you Rachel!

Thanks Robert!
Thanks Roy, I believe the weighted falls do help, but honestly I think all the whips I've tried them on work better with weighted falls.
Thanks Ron!

Thanks Philbert and Ben!

There is kind of a freedom in just doing black, but after so long being mostly restricted to black and white on the thongs it still feels like a breath of fresh air to get to work in color now :)
