I've not seen sinker or battlecord for sale at my paracord supplier. I'll have to look around for some.

Here's the start of the second belly...

Yep that's good plaiting Roger.
Nice transition from diamond to herring bone.

Thank you. Had to check Bernie's vid for the diamond to herringbone transition. Heavens bless that man for his desire to share.

Roger, that's going to be great! (It's going to be, because what we already see is great!)

And yes, Bernie's generosity was amazing!

Well, 2nd belly's done. Must say I'm starting to get a bit excited. The curve and tension on the first two bellies is nice and consistent. If I can get the binding right on this one...

My compliments to your work Mr. Tuson !!!

Your plaiting and your bindings both look fantastic - thank you for sharing pictures of the build of this whip !!!
Have you decided which colors you'll be using on the overlay ?

All the best
Ben

Ben, I'm a man so have absolutely no colour coordination at all. Kat is often having to tell me what colors to put together. I have plenty of coloured cord but no ideas yet. I'll finish the 2nd belly binding today and then get them all out to choose.

Ha! You know, I always ask Lonnie! In the couple cases that I didn't....
Yes, I'm not good with colors either!

2nd Belly's bound.

Here are some close ups. The closed loop section extends to about 8" from Transition, opening up from there and down another 8-10" before returning. More X-passes over the top until satisfied and... done. :D

Roger - thank you for the pictures. You're making me rethink my binding strategy.

Roger, I have a strong hunch this is going to be really GOOD!

Craig, I start off with the the usual 'follow the strand' all the way down the belly and back up, repeating but shortening the length to create the progression. Once I've done enough of that to feel a good tension in the transition area, I do the very tight closed loop bind, opening it up as I described above.

Now, as to colours, I've just ordered a 100' length of Burgundy but am actually considering a two tone whip, with the handle in Burgundy and Black and the thong in just Black (maybe with a Burgundy tracer). Hmmm, choices...

Hell yeah, thats a Sexy binding. What are you gonna to do with the strands looking out at the end of your Binding?
