Here are two ingredients for my next whip, which I picked up while on leave in Custer, SD. Maniacal laugh.

Craig that is going to be an awesome handle! I've been thinking about a collar from a deer antler here. Wow I can't wait to see this build!

Very nice, both yours and your daughter's.
I've seen a few interesting walking stick handles made out of deer antler and often wondered if I could convert one to a handle. Looking forward to seeing what you can do with it.

I'm sure I've seen whip handles made from antler somewhere, a few years ago - perhaps on eBay. It should be perfectly possible.

Time to move on to my next whip. I'm going to make an Arizona flag whip for a raffle for my boy scout troop.

Not that far, but I might show some progression pics since it will have an off colored handle.

The Arizona flag has some popping colors in it and that is going to be pretty cool.

In order to make it as close to the flag as possible, I'm going to do the heel knot and handle in solid blue, the transition knot in old gold, and the thong in red and yellow stripes.

This will be cool to see, Craig!

Craig, perhaps even a star in the heel of the whip ?
I can't wait to see your Arizona beauty.

I'm not sure how to do that.

Maybe put a star concho or something in the end of the heel knot.
Or even draw one and glue it on the end and then clear coat over it with some
kind of protecting coat.

Is a Major's insignia a star ?
What ever insignia is a star you could even use that .

Ron - Brigadier General is one star, but it's silver.
Trying to learn crown start. Thank you, Bert.

Well that belly was hot garbage. It was fine until I dropped two strands. Since I did four strands instead of two, and because they were all the same length, I think I dropped two ends of two different strands and it got all messed up. Even worse on the next two strands. Tomorrow I'll take pictures and then strip it back down to the core.

Craig that is painful I know. I had an overlay 1/2 done just a couple days ago and took the whole thing off. Darn. I hope the next run goes better.
