Craig, I'm not normally a fan of white, since it gets dirty so easily, but the white and blue together look great! :)

Robert - that's just the belly. I went to two colors so I can see the strands more easily in order to keep things straight and tight. It's actually silver grey.

Roger - I hope to get the third belly done today and start working on the overlay tomorrow.

Ah! Thanks, Craig! :)

Handle and third belly done. I got scared of limpness and did some more binding over the second belly. You might be able to use this whip as a poker.

That looks fine to me Craig. Once it's broken in...

Craig, I agree with Roger: that looks fine. (I'll have to make sure I visit Roger once he receives this, to see for myself!)

Craig, this thing is looking great. Can't wait to hear about the final project.

Nice!

Just remember, binding a stiff transition doesn't necessarily translate to lots more thickness. Tight and progressive are the key words.

I know, but my usual pattern of paracord, tape, sinew, more tape, and then next layer does translate to super heavy.

This photo, from Tucson News Now, perfectly shows what I'm trying to capture with this whip. The only thing missing from the picture is a full moon.

Not counting the bellies, this whip has 14 different colors in it.

Craig, that sky is quite spectacular! And I think you might just be converting me (by slow stages) to like bright colours more than I have. (I can also appreciate that having a brightly-coloured whip in a climate like yours would look far better, and more natural, than it would here, where so much is grey or brown.)

Wow! That's quite a colour combination. Can't wait to have it in my hands.
