For what it's worth I only close loop bind all TT core and belly ends, and just a few inches past the transition- from 4" to 14" of closed loop, but more than that of x binding.

Hi Rachel.

I sometimes experience that my belly ends get too stiff if i bind them - do you have any experience to share in that sence?

Morten I use a Twisted Taper for my belly ends so they are already "stiff" in a sense, but like a cable will bend. I close loop bind over any TT as it covers and holds in place any drops in the twisted taper and also I've found it absolutely necessary to completely bind a Twisted Taper all the way to the tip (but not the plaited part of the belly necessarily- just the TT) as plaiting from the tip can be tricky and easy to twist if you're not really careful. Thank you Rachel, that was confusing me slightly; I've done ungutted TTs in the past and so the plaiting over the handle seemed like it would be bulky but now all is clear . How do you get a good weight from the whip if the core is all gutted?

Some folk use lead shot in their core, some use leaded fishing line. I like to use more bellies, so often two over a thin core and then yhe overlay. Just started doing 3 bellies in my heavier whips

Thanks Sebastian. I've worked really hard at trying to pull equally with both hands and slowing down a bit to ensure a good tension in the strands.

I don't know how I missed this thread before but I'm glad I caught it this time. That whip is awsome. The colors are amazing together. I'd have to say that is probably the length and size whip that I prefer for general cracking. As Robby says not for the bom bom bom but for relaxed cracking. Once you get that mass in motion it is a beautiful thing how they just crack themselves. Can't wait for the final pictures.

I have to agree, the color coordination and pattern is really appealing! And 11 feet long is getting up there!

It actually wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Just slow to begibn with then speeding up as the cords shortened!
