I'd have to tape myself to the back of that horse. Wielding a whip whilst riding? No problem. In all directions at the same time, of course. In fact I'd strangle myself with that whip within the first 10 seconds, I think. Maybe 12...

Hi Robby. I don't think I do have any video, but its something that has been done here, probably even before "The Man from Snowy River" movie. Its at these events and Mountain Cattleman's events that it's done. Most competitions you must use a 6ft stockwhip and use the Cattleman's crack. Generally there are 8 to 10 targets and it goes in a circle. Beginners can do what ever gait, but the opens have to crack the targets at least in a canter.
I'll see if I can find any video, if not I'll try and take some of William ,who works for me, sometime.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Amazing whips in beautiful colors and some of the most wonderful patterns I have seen. One day I really must get one of your whips.
After seeing your whips I must confess I was tempted to do some sort of shell insert into my turks heads but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. That is your signature and not something one should copy. So if I ever have a whip with a beautiful bit if shell in the handle, it will be one of your whips. Keep up the wonderful work.

With that post you earned my deepest respect, Joe! I see that you're tempted to do the same thing, but you refused, because it is Bobbi's signature! Others didn't. I posted into another thread that I don't like too much that someone simply says: "I like that design. I'm going to make one myself". There was no answer. Wasn't the best idea to ignore me... And it is still on my radar. The minimal requirement, I see is to ask the respective whip maker if it is okay! But personal! Not via pm, Twitter, Facebook, Forum message or email. Such a thing deserves these few minutes to call a whip maker in person and ask!

But - again - by recognizing the fact, that this is Bobbi HolyOak's idea & signature and that you won't do it for these reasons you show real character. Real style and class. Bravo! I mean - no one could stop you, if you do it. But that wouldn't make you a lot of friends, that is sure. It takes not very much to steal such an idea. But it takes a lot of character and personality to disclaim. Again: Bravo!

Thank you for the very kind words. As you said, I could have copied Bobbi's idea and no one ELSE would have known. But I would have known and I couldn't stand knowing I had done that to someone else who I respect.

Hi Bobbi I have been admiring your work for the few months I have been whipmaking, you have a style that set's your whip's apart from the crowd. I love it when you can set 2 dozen whips on a table and identify each ones maker just from a glance. Your Show Whip looks to be the best whip out for it's category, I like Lauren's whips but yours are a cut above. The gemstone you add to each whip is awesome, I wonder what color you will add to mine when I finally get to order one of your fine whips.

Stones are cool but I doubt that many will follow that path because it isn't that cost effective. The cheep ones are $5 then go up to $30. I don't charge for them because I want to be able to pick for myself which one goes best with my sense of the person.

Derek, thank you for your kind words. I also love when you can tell from a glance who made what. I like Lauren. Our whips behave so differently that I don't even think of them as the same thing but I know the show whip will always be in the PH category.

I think, the top one is the "Sonic Alignment". I cracked that one myself, and it's very nice to handle. Very easy to crack. And the show whip... Wasn't there a review, once, about these beauties? The show whips combine some great aspects - they are incredibly fast, they are light weighted and very accurate. Good job, Bobbi.

Robert, That is a 7 foot, 12 plait sonic alignment. You can tell that this gentleman is inspired by Robby. He wanted the all the whips the same as Robby's... but I gave him a bigger end knob and a sprinkling of birdeyes for good measure. I've decided to make the knobs on the SAs bigger now and I'm liking the look. I love the sleek smaller knobs too, but they don't lend themselves to my practicing new knots.
