Brandon, in the past I just laid it over on top of the belly I am plaiting over and just plaited over it for about
about 4 or five laces. The pulled down on it to make sure it was still tight above... trimmed it off.... singed it... then continued on plaiting.
I hope that's the right way. It's the only way I know.

It's ok if you disagree with me.

Brandon, I have a 12pl 8 footer made by Einar Stephenson, but other than it being well plaited and
super stiff, I have not been able to break it in after a couple of weeks of using it, there's not much I can
tell about how it was made.
It's so stiff still that the tail will not bend with gravity.
It might take months to break it in, but it will last for ever.

Hmm its interesting you said that i was about to post this on my whip #3 thread but it goes with what your saying. Its belly number 2 first layer of binding. I was wondering if its possible to bind too tight? I pulled the sinew as tight as i could, to the point the skin came off my finger. Then at the last i broke the sinew i pulled it so hard. Its ok though i was about to cut it.
