Thanks Jessie! Do you mean Robby's Facebook page, or am I missing something? (Which is common!)

Robby's. I haven't posted since he fell down the stairs.

Ah, OK. Anything you need? You can feel free to use that sketch I put in my art section a few weeks ago.

Um...let me take time with this tomorrow? I am currently sewing mustaches and painting cowboys. Tomorrow I have orientation for my new job in the morning, and then I will squeeze in a post tomorrow before going to the range. Maybe I will take you up on that drawing. :)

@ Tyler Blake:

Amazing work Sir - my greatest compliments to you !!!

The "nautic whip" looks very nice and flows like a dream (I will post a more detailed comment in the "clips"-section) - WOW !!!

I also like the pictures of the exowhip and the bullwhip. The combination of green, black and tan is one of my personal favorties - again WOW !!!

All the best
Ben

Beautiful pieces as usual Tyler, especially love the blue one. Did you do the TH knots with cords that still have the inner strands?

Thanks Phil! Yes, I usually do leave the filler cords in for TH knots, at least some of it- that's partly how I size my knots, is removing a degree of the filler cord.

Tyler, nice, i was wondering, as the TH looked a little rounder then i remember.

Wow that's some fine advice!
I will not be forgetting this....
Thank you, Tyler!

Philbert and Rachel,
There's where personal preference comes in- Some people like really smooth knots, and some like the texture and grip that this style gives. I always liked the "locked in" feel I got from it, but as soon as I tried Roy's wooden handles and knobs I found out smooth was just fine too. Actually I like Roy's handles better than Turk's Heads...

Tyler, I agree.
I like the feel of the wooden knobs vs. THs .
It just kind of flows into the handle and I like that feel.
I think , unless planned differently, most if not all my future whips will be wood.
It might even turn into a sort of trade mark sort of thing.
(gotta look into wood burning)

Definitely. If you need to get started burning on a budget, you can use one of those nifty 40% off coupons at Hobby Lobby for a walnut hollow. Just a simple one is fine, I've seen that some of them do have temp control which is really helpful. Other than that a higher price on those usually means it has more tips you won't use. If you can't find one with a temp control Wall Lenck makes a separate unit for that. And Pyro paper! That would be my short list of the most important things for burning. :)

Tyler, just looking at their website sure gives me some ideas.

This one looks about right. I'll see if they have them at Hobby Lobby.

Yep, that would do it. I'd recommend getting really friendly with the chisel point, I eventually got to where I wasn't using any others, and when you change tips it takes time for one to cool and other to heat up. I'd also keep a pair of pliers handy so you can tighten the tip when it wiggles loose.

Tyler - I'm sorry that I haven't given you topic enough attention lately. Your whip handles are truly amazing. I know function is more important, but I love seeing a highly complicated handle like yours.
