This is the Gallery of "Sui Generis Whips" - Jessie Edwards

This new Gallery replaces the former "Masters Gallery", which will work from now on as pure archive. Here you will find not only the work and art from folks who sell whips, but also from folks, who create their whips out of pure passion. And we have an additional gallery. It is called "The Gallery - Making of".

It's amazing how well you've nailed the theme of this whip and how fast your are improving!
ALL components of this whip like the silhouette on the handle, the pipe at the heel knot and the color of the thong make it impossible to not think about Sherlock Holmes and ALL components a very well thought out and very beautiful!

Thank you very much for sharing!

All the best

Jeez Jessie! That is really creative and cool. Really splendid work on the sillhouette, and I agree about the colors. You could name this one "A Study in Sonic" :D

That's not a bad moniker for that whip, Tyler.

Nothing fancy, just a 6.5 foot practice whip.

Jessie, this is not a "practice" whip. This is a "show" whip.
It shows how much your talent is improving with each successive whip you make.
The colors are super and compliment each other perfectly, and the 3D diamond pattern is super awesome.
This is the only one like that I have ever seen anywhere on anything, not to mention on a whip.

Great job.

How does it crack?
Did you use the "poke a hole" method for attaching the cracker?

Naw, that is a double loop fall. I back thread the paracord and then I hand sew it in with tiny clear monofilament, so you cant see the stitches. Makes changing crackers easy. I have a cool tool I use for changing out those falls on a fall hitch. I know double ended falls aren't usually used on fall hitches because you cant thread them on a needle to change, but this little tool I have (get it at wal mart) makes it easy to change the double ended fall. No needles, no fire, no drama. Just hook and pull.

It cracks really nice. Underhand straight into the victorian cutback without a hitch. I think it will serve its owner well.

Ron is right. That design is great. That is exactly what you need in your product line. Don't get me wrong - your other whips are beautiful artwork. But for some customers it may be too much of art. So this is a more practicable design and - like Ron already said - it looks fucking awesome. That is a whip, I would buy. The new owner is a lucky dog...!

Jessie - you have the ability to come up with such great patterns that work with monocolor whips or whips with two very similar colors. If it doesn't already have a buyer, I'll take it. :D
If I can't run fast, I'll make slow look impressive.

Jessie, that thong looks, for all the world, like leather - at least in the photos. And I specially like the big oval heel knot. It just demands, 'Take hold of me!' :)

I think I see - you've spiral-wound the handle and then laced in the diamond pattern? Bloody brilliant however you did it!

No, Sir Roger. It's kind of a variation of the ringbolt hitch knot. You can do it with as many strands as you like. 4 was too hard with flat cord. It works a lot easier with loaded cord.

Aww thank you Craig. This one has an owner. I have another on the hook today that should be pretty. I will email you.

Jyri, I follow a knotter on YouTube that goes by the name Johnny Debt. He's a great knot teacher.

Absolutely fantastic, WS!!! You just go from strength to strength!
I think it is a smart move to have a variety of whips- people are all different and a simpler line but still "you" will provide for those folks who like a simpler style, or are too worried they will mess up the art piece.

If this doesn't qualify by your standards as "art",
Then this is the "style".
Inch by inch.
