Would you like to see a tutorial on that Devin?

Sure Tyler, that would be very helpful.

I'll see if I can get some good pics of the process

Tyler, even though I'm not likely to try it myself, I'd be fascinated to see how this is done!

Just stunning. I like snake whips and those are fantastic.

Robert and Devin: Do you think pictures would work OK, or would video be easier to follow?
Thanks Roger!

Just my opinion but pictures are really nice IF there are enough of them

Tyler, I think pictures or video would be equally good, as long as each step is shown clearly. If there were enough pictures to do this, they might be easier to get into one's mind than a video....

Sometimes I have a hard time following video tutorials, if they move to fast. I'll shoot for a clear, step by step pictorial

Thanks, Tyler. That will suit me just fine!

Here is something I've toyed with for some time...tapered falls:
This is two layers of weighted black dacron, essentially a fall itself, threaded into two staggered layers of paracord. I melted the ends of the paracord, hopefully they won't fray. The only problem is I can't get every color to do this- most are too tight.
Herit is next to a standard black paracord fall:

I can imagine that this type of fall can make a whip really nose heavy. In a positive way!

Thanks Gentlemen

Robby, it really does! I only had time to crack it a few times before I had to send it out, but it made for my favorite weight/balance ratio on a 7 foot bullwhip that I've tried so far.

Very cool, Tyler! I'm interested to know how they age... if they fray at all where the different parts of the sheath end.

Brilliant, Tyler! I really like this idea, and can (just about) imagine what it's like to use it. Like Bobbi, I wonder if it will fray over time - but well done!

Only time will tell- I didn't sell this, I just included it with a whip so the customer could try it out. I do plan on making some for myself too, though to try out and test.

I also wonder how much, if any, shifting or sliding the different length sheaths will experience as the fall curls and uncurls, and whether that's a good thing or not.
I'm trying to picture it moving through the curl and the difference between a single length of cord and the tapered one. It seems to me that the tapered one would curl out more smoothly????
