Thank you, Charlie, Ron, and Rachel.

Not without flaws, but I'm pretty happy with it.

Sanding an antler stinks! As in it really smells bad! And it ruins sand paper in no time. But the handle feels much better in the hand now.

Drill press is almost ready, except I need some bolts to mount the vice.

And there was much finagling needed to hold the antler in place on the drill press.

However, it cut the hole nice and easy and super straight.

Waiting for the epoxy to set.

Craig, that's looking very nice.
How does it crack?
How's the performance with the curved handle?

Ron - I won't know until I'm finished. I haven't even attached a cracker yet. It's still, though. And not as super heavy as my other recent whips.

Robby - thank you. I'm just stressing about the stress on the antler, though.

Thank you, Charlie.

Thanks, Rachel.

While the epoxy sets it's on to the next whip. Once again, random scraps for the belly result in a cool color combo.

Ooooohhhhh....Tina, my wife, just had an excellent idea for the antler seam involving something I've never tried before. I'm going to need to take a trip to Hobby Lobby.

I thought I was almost done with this whip. Nope! The will end up being the most complicated and intricate whip I've ever made. No, I'm not carving the handle, though.

Craig, the antler is too cool, and the plaiting looks splendid! I bet the antler will hold up just fine, they do go through the ringer while they're still attached. I know they crack on knife handles sometimes but I think that's because people pin them wrong. Those gloves are ideal too.

Craig, if you think it might crack under stress, you might try some preventative binding like a French grape vine where you think the suspect area might be. A leather one might look cool.

Thanks, Roy, Tyler, and Ron. I just attached one of the crackers that I won in the raffle and it cracks smooth like butter. After I finish it I'll take some final pics and make a video before I ship it out.

Trying something totally new. I did get the leather wet before I sewed it together, so it will hopefully dry and shrink down tight.

That medallion on the end of the beam is really cool. A perfect fit!
