As everyone said, it does no good to try and go against your nature. Beefy heavy whips are just fine

Thank you, everyone. Especially Robby for convincing me to embrace the beef/beast. I'm calling this one Frankenwhip 2.0. Progress has been slow due to multiple races and visiting family. However, I'm currently working on the overlay. The colors are a bit bright, but I know that they'll darken up after waxing, just like Roger's whip.
Arggghhh...the Imgur app is giving me problems with my picture links.

Imgur changed their Android app and now it's really flaky. When I upload multiple pictures at once, it lumps them all together as a single post and then won't let me pull up the individual links for a while. I keep getting a "could not load details" error message.

Gee, too bad I don't work in cybersecurity or something like that so I can figure out a way to counter some of these cases of internet tomf#ckery. Oh, wait...
Second belly.
Straight tight sinew wrap with several X wraps on the transition.
Final tape wrap bolster with some extra where the wire rope and first belly ended to smooth out the taper.
Start of the overlay. I just can't avoid that gap at the end of the square start.

I like the bright colors Craig.

Thanks, Ron. My wife picked them out from my leftover colors. They'll darken up and turn more autumny when I wax it.

Looking very good Craig! Is that a 20 plait?
With the gaps at the square start, I think my only suggestion would be to try tightening up and back with your first pass of strands, so that they bunch upwards rather than downwards (You get gaps if they get pulled down too much)

Sparky - yes it is. Though in retrospect I probably could have gotten away with an 18 plait and then I wouldn't have had an extra red strand. Oh well.
I've tried several times to push everything up to close that gap, but it never works. Fortunately, it's easy to cover it with the heel knot.

That is true, it's quite easy to hide. Upon a closer look, it looks like some of your strands are kinda folded in half/bent in a weird angle within the square start, which kinda makes it harder to "fill in" all the spaces, especially with fancy plaiting/checkerboard pattern. I'd say just make everything tight and perfectly flat, and you should be able to fill it all in ^_^

Craig that's pure awesome you are able to flip off the techno bugs and then line em up and make em work. I only can wish, when I want to use a hammer.
Those colors will indeed mellow to a beautiful autumn with waxing. Looking great! Looking like the beast its meant to be. Yeah!

Your wife has a very good eye for colours, Craig. Those are going to turn out fine.

Yes, if it'll become autumn colors after waxing than your wife certainly picked the right colors.
You know,

Looking good so far.

Mr. Frank, I realy like the Frankenwhip 2.0 - it looks very heavy, very solid and the colors go together very well - well done!
All the best

Brandon - indeed. I am having issues with keeping them flat on the start. Frankly, I just give up and hide it all under the knot.
Thank you, Ben, Tyler, Sven, Rachel, and Sir Roger.
All done with the plaiting. I still need to roll it and start working on the knots, but I had to stop in order to grill the shrimp and lobster.
