Would you say you have large hands Ron? If not, I wouldn't make it bigger, I would simplify. Tightening a knot with gaps will most likely enlarge the gaps, yes... I will try and look in my knot book tonight and see if there might be a good one for you.

No , my hands are not large.
Thank you Tyler.

Let's try this Ron -measure these spots:
width and height of palm, length of middle finger. Figure out where the final size needs to be first, then size the foundation and move forward.

Tyler,
Palm : width 3 1/2" height 4"
Middle finger : 3"

I didn't get to my knot book last night Ron, but I will! I would say your hands are about the same size as mine, and my instinct is that the foundation is actually a little large, but it's really a variable because I think yours is longer than I do mine and also you're using de cored lace- do you know the 7 x 4?

Starting the heel knot ..... again.
I reduced the length of it.
The size is now diameter 1 1/4" and the length is 1 1/4".
I am now attempting a 6B 7L two pass TH.
David's TH-1 is really coming in handy.
I also found another use for it.
I clamped it in the vice vertically and inserted the whip and using a vice grip to hold it and now I can weave the TH and just turn it as needed in stead of trying to hold it between my knees.

Lookin' good Ron! You know, another thing you might try, if you get gaps with the two pass, but you don't want to do 3, you could do an interweave and see if that takes up the necessary space. That could be like a zig zag that just goes through the middle section on this one- you could use the lighter color lace and it would be a nice accent.

Tyler, no I don't know the 7L X 4B knot but I can sure find out.
The knot is sort of finished, aside from tightening it down, but I could always re-do it again.
It looks OK, but I may not be happy with it yet. I think three passes would look better.
Here's the top.
This still has to be tightened down and manipulated but here's the side.

Great! Looks like a nice knot!!!!! Very nice Ron!

I agree with Rachel- and I think 3 passes would be crowding it, honestly

Thank you Rachel, Efren, Philbert and Tyler.
Tyler, you are right about the third pass. There's just no room for it.
But with the "diamonds" being smaller with a shortened foundation it looks more finished with just two passes then it did with the longer foundation.
I'm sticking with this one.

Here's something I found about an 'Interwoven 6B X 7B TH Knot".

It looks very interesting. Unfortunately I don't have enough room on the knot to try it
on this whip.

@ Ron May:
Very well done-congratiulations!!!
You don“t have to call me "Sir", please call me Ben

!!!
You mentioned that you wanted to try the interwoven 6-7 TH on this whip. You could use it as a transition knot. The mesurements for the knot fundation in this case would be 15 mm length. The diameter would be 2 mm larger than the thong (I use a pice of 1 mm thick nylon webbing to build the knot foundation and therfore the overall diameter is 2 mm wider than the thong).
These measurements would work out for a 6-7 TH with one single pass and one interweave.
A knot foundation for the interwoven 6-7 TH can also be done with diffenrent measurements, is just one way out of many.
Greetings Ben
