Hi Everybody,
I apologize if the last few weeks I have been absent from this forum.
I've been busy in my new job as a dad (this Sunday we will celebrate his first year!!).
To make me forgive from you, below a rich gallery of the work of the last few weeks.
Now I'm working on a unusual whip from what we see often.
Soon I will show you this whip.
Kind Regards
Gio

Gio I hope you have more sleep in the baby's second year. Congratulations on completing the first year and best wishes to you and your entire family!

The whips are beautiful. I especially like the the natural color one. the variations in tone of the leather along with your smooth, even plaiting give it a look like something of ancient gold.

Do you use a special thread for signal whips to make the crackers last longer than just Nylon or Poly crackers would? People have been talking about various materials but I never considered it very important for anything other than signal whips.

Splendid work as always Gio :) I like them all, but the thing that especially grabbed my attention was the pattern on the handle on the first bullwhip. Very subtle and elegant :)

Thank you all for your kind word and for your kind wishes !!!
Hi Jonathan, re. Signal cracker i use artificial sinew. According my personal opinion i think the artificial sinew have the right weigth to balance the weight of the thong. I plait the sinew for about two inches over the leather thong, than i twist the cracker.
This is all :-)

If durability is a concern, you could try using Dyneema/Spectra for the cracker.

Maestro, great work.
The black and red one looks like a mini version of the whip you made for me, :)
Great work Gio.
Wow, has it been a year already since your son was born?
Time goes quick doesn't it.
Well, I wish him a happy first birthday. I'm sure he enjoyed every second of it.

Hi Fritz, thanks for your kind feeback and for your wish, you're right the signal is very similar of the whip that i made for you.
You're right for the secont time: Time goes quick!!! This sunday will be his first birthday and we are very excited for this!!!!!
Robert thank you so much for the compliments i like so much making the signal whip because i think that this whip is a little compendio of whipmaking.
In this kind of whip you can see a lot of the know how of whipmaking: shotloading, plaiting, bolstering, tapering and twisting of the cracker etc....
All in one whip!!!
This is the reason of my passion in making this kind of whip

Wow that is a long handle, nice work Gio. Do you braid your falls with solid sinew or do you use a leather core?
