Congrats Craig! Once Robby gets it broken in it should be an excellent whip. Might be awhile though... :p

Thanks, Ethan - but I still don't understand why! (Robby has promised to explain it all in due course....)

I love this video!!! Congratulations, Craig, this is well deserved! You are doing an excellent job and you have truly developed your own unique style. This whip is a monster of epic proportions.

Robby, I love the effects, and the play on Frankenstein. Very well done and enjoyable as always!

Thank you, Rachel. I'm hoping to build a longer version shortly, but things are really hectic right now with the upcoming move.

After over a year of whip making hiatus, I finally started making a new whip for a departing coworker. Access to necessary materials and tools here in Korea has been a challenge. I'll try to upload photos, but I'm having trouble accessing photobucket. I'm making this one as Thunderstorm, not Frankenwhip.

Cutting some groves in the handle to hopefully give the core some extra grip. I've had issues with the core separating a little from the handle during break in resulting in a limp transition.

Core.

Square start.

It's good to see you getting back into it.
I'm looking forward to seeing it finished.

Korea, wow, it amazes me how this forum brings people together from so far away. The whip is looking good. I too like the color choice. I look forward to seeing more progress pics.

hey Craig, good to see you! is it gonna be blue and white or is that a belly? Take a triangle file and cut grooves with that about 1 mm deep. at least 3 rings. mix a little epoxy and smear it on the rod, slide the core on there and then sinew like a mother. no more slipping.

I always sinew like a mother. :D The one that really gave me slippage problems was the one I made for Roger, and I think that was mostly because of how ungodly heavy it was. Blue and grey are just the colors that I use for the bellies so that I can see the braiding easier in order to avoid twists and gaps.

Overlay done. Need to work on the knots this weekend.

Ignore my wife being goofy.

Whip done. Definitely not my best work, but not horrible. Has a slight right pull, a slight hinge, and a slight bulge, but not unwieldy.

Craig, this looks almost as beefy as your 'Frankenwhip'! Is it as stiff as that monster? :P

Robert - not quite, but close. I'm going to try something new on my next whip that might make it thinner, but stiffer.

I do like that concho, Craig.

I've lent your Frankenwhip to friend of mine who is a real beefy fellah and likes to muscle his whips (no matter how many times I tell him not to! :/) and he does like it. :D

Craig, the photo of your wife holding the whip really gives some perspective on how stout this one is (in comparison to her forearm).
