Nice work Craig,
I hope your material formula works, the whip looks quite meaty for sure.
The pattern looks great, specially when there's such a contrast.

Thank you, everyone. It definitely handles well, but I still hate my knots. I decided not to wax it. I did a test wax on a piece of white paracord, and it looked really dingy.

I definitely went off plan on this one. My plait counts were 4, 12, and then 16. On the overlay I cut my lengths long and then just dropped a strand when it felt like things were getting too crowded. I had a lot of wasted cord, but i think the taper came out good. I can see that the pattern didn't stay 100% straight, though. Good new is that it passes the Robby roll out test!

Very nice build! And as long as it passes Robby's tests you know you've done something right

That's a great-looking whip Craig. I like Donovan's description: 'nice slow heavy thunderstorm'!

Craig, once I accepted that cord is about 5c a foot, I stopped stressing about wastage. I do have some idea where I'm going to drop strands but those numbers change once I'm working on the build. Sometimes you gotta just let the whip build itself!

Good going Craig, the taper is even, and the pattern's not that much off.

Craig that's a beautiful job, even if its not 100% straight! Your lower strand plaits look nice!
I think this is a really good looking whip on the taper, too.
Well done!!!

Someone at work today made the comment that they thought it was ironic seeing me teach a black man to use a whip. :/
