Courageous choice of colors, and for that many colors it works really well. The thong is awesome looking.
That's a meaty one!
Waiting for the rain to stop in England? Oh my. Well, let us know :D

Glad to see this happen!

Love the colors on the whip - i dont often see so many colors used - without it looking messy - this is beautifull

Erik, I assure you (from personal knowledge) that it doesn't rain as much here as where Tyler is, in western Washing to State!

Craig, just to let you know I haven't forgotten about reviewing your whip. Sorry for not getting round to it before now - no excuses. It's pretty dry at the moment so I will get outside at some pint this week and take some pics and video.

Some observations on Craig's whip:

Heavy - first impression is that it really is heavy. The diameter of the thong at the transition is 4.5cm, a full 1cm thicker than any of mine.
The plaiting at the top of the thong is quite loose, but that might be down to the weight causing strands to shift as it flexes. Further down, the plaiting is nice and tight. The taper is excellent, smooth and very consistent. There have already been plenty of compliments about the colour scheme...!

As to cracking, unfortunately there's a fairly big twist in the plaiting at the top before the seam straightens out (straight from that point all the way down I might add) and this causes a little confusion as to which way you need to hold the handle. It doesn't help that the handle design is also not lined up with the thong. However, once you start cracking you soon forget about that.

As I say in the video below, once you get the damn thing moving, it flows nicely and cracks well. It's all about the initial 'push' of energy. Get it right and the whip cracks. Not enough and all you get is a 'whoof'. The overhead requires a fair amount of wrist work to get the loop to form and my wrist started to tire quite noticeably fairly quickly.

It's a heavy, chunky whip. It works, rolls and cracks. All in all, a good piece.

Not the best quality for some reason but here's some video:

Rog, that's very interesting. I'd love to try it one day. Perhaps, when we next meet up....

Sir Roger, it does indeed look like a very beefy whip.
1.77" is very substantial at the transition.

It looks like when you are putting the energy necessary, it does crack well.

Thanks for the review and thank you both for participating and following through with the swap. This is a good example of how and why it's supposed to be done.
Good job y'all!

On the overhead, are you stopping the thong so it falls in front due to lack of space or is that the characteristic of this whip?

Ron

Looks like a seriously heavy whip :). Bit too much for me but that's just my preference, I know loads of people here would love one like that.

Phwoah I love the colours!
Personally I really do like the beefiness of it, it really lends well to the colours too! Well done Craig!! :D

Sir Roger - i made a heavy bull as well, and in the start - i had to muscle it a bit - but with one of Tylors tapered crackers on - it cracks easily - dont know if that would help you

I'm sure there are adjustments that could be made such as fall and cracker length but all in all it's a fine whip. Just needs some muscle.

Ron, as to the overhead, that's merely my poor technique. :/
