That is so special that I am speechless.
My prayers and reverence for your Dad, and for you as you plaited it.

This one is special not for the plaiting, not for the wood, but because...

Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

I am humbled.

Ron

Beautiful and elegant, and a part of your Dad with you in that whip. Perfect, WS. Perfect.

Love the simplicity in the thong that allows the beauty in the handle to shine

Jessie, how does it crack?

Wax first. I don't drive the car until the paint dries. Especially when the back yard is a mud boggin hole

Jessie, that is a beautiful piece. Very well done. As has already been stated, the color of the thong really allows the wood to stand on its own. All in all, this is an absolutely fantastic piece.

Thanks guys. This one was simple though. IM still waiting for the resin to dry on the other 2. They should be prettier. I understand that I am committed to a slow dry with this stuff. A week, I hear. meh

Jessie, would heat accelerate it any?
If so you could put them in the trunk of a car.

I could out them in the trunk of the car, but I am still wearing sweatshirts every day, so its not hot.

You are wearing sweatshirts and my shirts get sweaty. (in the shade).

We have sun in Germany, too. But it's to cold to sweat. Oh, one more thing... Great whip, Jessie. I think I can tell from the looks, that you did it. The plaiting looks good, the transition knot has exactly the right proportion to the rest and the taper looks quiet even to me. What always makes me wonder, is the fact, that there are people who don't as much attention to details as you do, and sell their stuff for a lot of money. What wonders me even more, is the fact, that there are folks who spend their money on that nonsense.

In other words: I watched your progress very close, and I am sorry if I was sometimes too hard with my comments (I would do exactly the same thing again, anyway...), but now you have something at hand you can offer to the world. And sell it. Some whip makers have kind of personal trade mark. Yours are the handles. No handle is like the other. You will be known for that.

Aaaand - in the afternoon there will be a new video in the 10/10 challenge...

Jessie that is a wonderful whip. Such a unique handle with a classy thong and a perfect knot. Robby is right, one look and we know that it could only be crafted by Jessie. Well done lady and thanks for sharing

You aren't hard on me, Robby. You make me better. More importantly, you make me want to be better.

Wow Jessie, that's beautiful. Really simple looking, but the handle itself is really unique~

Ron, I just waxed it and I took it out after it cooled off a bit. I am so pleasantly surprised. I mean really, I am really happy. I think my natural handles, not being straight, will compromise the end crack and make it sporadic. I think this is a worthless whip really, but I am so surprised right now. I also thought I would need more weight in the heel, but its not bad. Not only did it go where I asked it to go, but it went there without a lot of effort. I kind of surprised myself. I am actually really truly proud of this one.

You should be very proud.
Especially considering the history of the handle.
Very nice job.
