Whip Basics. The Forum

Hi Guys,
after several signalwhip I have developed a way to reduce (to me) the imperfection "visual and functional" in the braided thong and crackers area.
Near at the end of the strips I created a hole and in each of these strips I put the strings through the hole and bend the string into two parts which will form the braided crackers.
In this way I will continue to plait the new endings.
Here the pic of this idea

I'd be worried about the leather tearing at those points...

You could be right but I did some tests.
1. I used kangaroo leather whose tensile strength is known to all
2. the hole is located about 5cm from the end of the strip so in this way strip of leather and rope will become one piece.
We'll see what happens ... anyway only through experimentation we can enrich our knowledge and provide new solutions.
The time will tell me if I did good or bad :-))

Well said and well done Gio!, I've done the same thing with paracord with no problems. I would assume that you'll have no problems either as the abundance of energy is released in the last 5cm of the cracker. Btw, really nice "Snake" ~Guy~
