So here's the debut of another local young whipmaker: This is Hagen, age 10. Now I did help out with the plaiting from 7-5 strand, about 1 ft total- the rest is his work.

The whip: 6 ft 12 plait imperial red, goldenrod yellow, and black king snake pattern, 16" cherry handle made by mom...

That color combination is really cool. It looks really good. Nice smooth taper. Plaiting seems straight too. How does it crack?

Hagen says it cracks good, and thank you! We will try to upload a video in a little while in town

Rachel, Hagen did a fine job.
He has a great mentor in his Mom.

The video was cool.
His technique is going to be good.
I'm glad to see that he is not trying to over power the whip.
He's going to turn into quite a showman. :)
Loved the ending.
Good job Hagen.

From Hagen:
"Thank you for teaching Mama so she could teach us. Mr. Robby is very good at wraps and really fun to watch, so I wanted to try too.
Thanks for all the learning and fun."

And from me, thanks, WB :)

Thank you Mr. Robert and Miss Bobbi :)
Hagen really likes bright colors so that's what he wanted, his choice was after the scarlet king snake.., he said he read they eat other snakes, and which is tougher, the poisonous coral, or the snake that'll eat it...

They've watched and watched Whip Basics: A Beginner's Guide several times... It has improved their cracking skills a lot!

Pretty cool, best of luck to Hagen, you're never too young to learn a craft.

Cool! Nice work, little dude! And I mean both the plaiting and the cracking :)

Just mind your eyes with that wrap. You only get two.

From Hagen:
Mr. Devin, thank you, you make cool flashlights.

Miss Jessie, thank you ma'am, I will help twist.

Mr. David, that is cool, can I be Warf?

Mr. Pokkis, thank you, yes sir the cracker goes faster than my BB's from my BB gun, I will be more careful.
