Tiger, Tiger, Burning Bright

Hi guys,
Couple of weeks ago I mentioned that an old friend of mine has agreed to refurbish my acoustic guitar (that I bought off
him 30 years ago!). As we both have so much history with this guitar, he agreed to do it for just the cost of parts so I said I'd make him a whip in return.
He asked for Black and Goldenrod but left the design up to me. So, here is Tiger, Tiger... a 6'6" Bullwhip (still needs fall, knots and wax but I ran out of cord so am waiting for a delivery)

Roger, that's an astonishingly attractive choice of colours. I like it a lot - and (as you know) I think 6 and 1/2 feet is a very good all-purpose length. I hope your friend is pleased! I certainly would be....

Thank you people. I'm very pleased with it so far. I'm aiming for golden heel, transition and fall.

Roger, that's great. I especially like that third photo - It
s got a neat sort of optical effect (although my eyes may be playing tricks on me, as I'm quite tired today). At any rate, nice work!

Scot it does have a bit of a 3D effect in that shot.

Sir Roger. When I started read I thought it would be a interesting colorcombo. But when I saw the pictures... wow. It's a ver nice combo.
And good plaiting!

Love the colors! It looks very nice and not a hint of "wander" in the plaiting. Very good job!

Thanks Sparky. I have a twisted black and gold fall to go on and am doing a 7x6 pineapple for the transition and a 2-tone heel knot to keep the Tiger motif.

Oooh nice! What kind of heel knot will you be doing?

Well, I am thinking of either straight forward 5x6 black/gold doubled/tripled or another gold/black pineapple. Still deciding.

I'm thinking a knot like this would really accentuate the "stripes" (not my image, pulled from a facebook group) -
Unfortunately I have no clue what it is called or how to do it :O
