6' Burgundy and Lilac. The thong is almost all double stranded plaiting except for the last 10" where I went back to single strands for the tail. Its carrying a lot of weight down the thong so am hoping for a slow steady roll out. Still needs fall and knots of course. Probably the quickest build I've ever done. Started the core on Friday afternoon.

Straight as an arrow. Are you going to wax it. I'm betting the colors will really enrich and darken beautifully.

Oh yes, it will be waxed. I agree with you Craig, I'm hoping the lilac will darken really nicely.

The colors are not my cup of the. On the other hand - it's not made for me. So... What impresses me most is the fact, that the pattern on the handle does not twist in any way. It looks really, really good. Very good job, Sir. Well done

Out of interest, what are the colours you like to see in a whip?

I'm with Robby - the plaiting looks good, but I'm not a huge fan of the coloring. My first thought was that it should be a Valentine's Day gift, based solely on the coloring. I like the Burgundy, but the lilac is too light and "pastel-ly" for my personal taste. With that said, I'm interested to see how the lilac turns out after the waxing. If it darkens considerably, I may just end up liking it. As Robby mentioned, though, it's not for me so my opinion doesn't count!

Sir Roger, your plaiting looks fantastic and the taper is excellent - very good work!

I love the colours and I reckon that lilac will darken in the wax, losing a little of the pastel feel to it.

Hm. That's not easy to answer. To be honest - I totally suck at combinating colors. I only know if I like something when I see it. But in general I am with deep, but rich colors. Deep blue, deep burgundy, deep brown, black... Like I said - I'm not good at colors. But it's an interesting question, because I rarely think about that matter

But - again - on your pattern; it looks really good. With "good" I mean that it just looks all natural. Like a print. Square on square. It looks effortless. That makes it look even greater.

Thank you Robby. Most of my whips have been darker colours and it was Lauren who complained that I never did anything lighter/brighter. That's why I made Capuccino and this one, to try out some different colour combinations. I want to sell and these whips - Chain Maille, Cappuccino and this one - are designed to show off what I can do with different colours. They'll all be for sale when I finish the website.

And I know that your website will be awesome, Rog. When you need something from me - I'll be there for you.

I for one like the color combination. Not to put a play on words, or maybe to do just that, they POP.

Website is all but complete, just waiting on a load of whip pictures from my friendly photographer (who is really dragging her heels with the pics ). I want a whole load of pics of as many of my good-but-not-sellable whips to show off my plaiting skills.

This is very fine, Roger - but I, too, think I'll like the colours better when it's been waxed. Real progress, sir!
