Whip Basics. The Forum

Hi Guys,
this is my first new whip I posted in this forum.
as I promised in the previous thread "red devil signal whip", here's this new signal.
Two tone - shotbag core - 12 plait - 4ft
The second picture, where the whip is hanging on a cabinet handle,
can give you an idea of firmness and rigidity of the overlay.

Nice plaiting, Gio! Very well done. Like Pawel, I prefer the "traditional" way of fall hitch and fall. And 4 ft, is - again - too fast for me Thanks for posting!

I always liked black and red on a whip. This one along with the other red one make for a really nice pair. Plaiting a cracker right into the thong like that must be tricky to do and maintain a nice taper, this one looks perfect

What can I say... great! And Steph, I agree with you, black/red is always a good color combination

Great Job Gio, Like Steph, I too really like the red/black combo. As Robby said, @ 4ft I'd surely hurt myself. I leave such ambitions to my 11yr old Ryan, he moves a lot quicker than his old man.LOL

I prefer the whip with the fall but the customer ask me this signal model.
In Italy, when the customer asks you a signal whip, he is asking for a bdsm whip ;-)
but this is not a problem, for me a whip it's just a whip.For me is always a way to learn new information on whipmaking.
it was really fun make this whip in all its critical stages:
making the shotbag, braiding the cracker on the point of the whip trying to keep the taper of the whip.
I'm really happy when i make different style of whip because i learn a lot more!!!

You're right. Usually all whips under a specific length are for that purpose. And I think it's good to talk open about these things. I know whipmakers who don't serve the fetish folks. Not directly. Under the motto: "Of course I know what people use three foot bullwhips for. But as long as they don't tell me, I give it to them. When someone tells me what for he/she wants it, I refuse to sell it". That's what we call in germany "double moral".

I - personally - think, that everybody should do what he/she likes. It's their private life. Not mine. So what. But... Again - 4 feet is way to fast for me

Gotta' agree guys, Once a whip leaves my hands I don't care what it's being used for, as long as it's not non-consensually being used to hurt anyone/anything, but as makers we really have no control over this. We're Whipmakers, not law enforcement, my 2 cents:)...Guy
