Ron, I think of all the whip projects I have on the horizon that's the one I'm most excited about:)
Thanks Robert- I agree, it's not the colors I would have picked but I also can't disagree with his reasoning for them. It was fun for me to do yellow thongs, that was a first.
Thanks Charlie and Roy!
Thanks Bobbi! I hope so too, it's always great toget to see a customer enjoying a whip you made!

Morten, I just plait the thong the full length and then the striped part (I call it the carapace) is, on this set, a 12 plait square start plaited from partway up the thong back to the heel. This one starts as 12 and then goes to 14 &16. To make a long story short, I use a thinner lace than paracord, and years ago I could only get it in black and white so I came up with this solution to add more colors to my arsenal, because the carapace is braided from paracord so I can do any colors there.

Thanks Y'all! Morten, I make the thong out of Wave Lace- it is nylon, but it's madefrom a finer thread in a more complex weave, so it handles differently. It's thinner than paracord, and it's quite a bit more flexible too. The downsides are that it takes a lot longer to plait because it's thinner, and I can only get it in 7 colors- but 7 is a lot better than 2
I f you're curious about it, I'd be happy to send you a sample.
