This is the Gallery of "Sui Generis Whips" - Jessie Edwards

This new Gallery replaces the former "Masters Gallery", which will work from now on as pure archive. Here you will find not only the work and art from folks who sell whips, but also from folks, who create their whips out of pure passion. And we have an additional gallery. It is called "The Gallery - Making of".

That's a very beautiful whip. Very nice craftsmanship and I love the handle.
Such a history to it, such a special whip. And it's good to hear the whip works well.

Golly, Jessie! I somehow missed this post earlier this afternoon. Terrific photos of a most distinctive a stylish whip! Fantastic! I do hope you can sort out the sticky resin business....

Proud is as proud does. Be proud.
Great job, and I agree with Mr. Robert on the photos.

Jessie that is so great! You've come so far you should be extra proud. I never would have thought this whip would be worthkess or inaccurate, only that it might take some getting used to.

"Solo"
6 foot thong, and 12 inch handle. It's very slow and heavy, but pretty. This whip fought me from the day I started the handle until the second I took it out of the wax. I was glad when it was over. Whip #14.

Oh yes, Jessie, very yes! Is that a treble clef on the handle? Difficult to see it all together. I do like the patina the wax has given the thong.

The handle is light aluminum that I reinforced with resin. The heel has lead sinker line in the base to weight it a bit and balance out this very nose heavy whip. I had to redo the handle 3 times because of the resin problem, so battle scars in the finish that eventually just would not sand out, but it adds something I think. It doesn't bother me too much. The veneer is dyed mahogany. I think the color is called barn wood. The cabochon is glass, but matched the veneer nice. The paracord was "supposed" to be lipstick red, but it kind of went burgundy after waxing. I was rather upset about that. I ended up cutting off and redoing those knots 10 or 12 times. I pretty much spent all day on the knots. All in all, I am not in love with this whip. yes, I am happy with the look mostly, performance wise, its nice. It passes the Amprage tests, though I am concerned that I am able to do the wave with it so early in the game. I assume it's the weight that allows this to happen. It's very heavy and slow, but really a joy to crack. It just gave me so much grief, I am not friends with it. It's like a kid that you love, but has been a brat all day. You love it just fine, but you don't like it very much at the moment.

Jessie will be - soon - very well known for her unique handle designs. Problem and benefit for customers will be that every single whip...is a single, unique whip. Every design is a prototype. You can't buy the same motif twice. If I were you, ladies and gentlemen, I would make sure to get my hands on an early Edwards whip.

Jessie, if that 'slow, heavy thong' is anything like your 'Feather' (of which I am the proud owner) I have to commend it. It handles beautifully! :)

Jessie, I love the treble clef on the handle.
I love the shadowing giving it a definite 3D effect.
Very nice touch.

Beautiful, Jessie! I really love that whip. The colors all go very well together.
