This is the Gallery of "Wolf Creek Whips" - Rachel McCollough

This new Gallery replaces the former "Masters Gallery", which will work from now on as pure archive. Here you will find not only the work and art from folks who sell whips, but also from folks, who create their whips out of pure passion. And we have an additional gallery. It is called "The Gallery - Making of".

Update, knot done ;)

It's no secret I like my wood over knots!
Knots take me a lot more time to get right.

I had a nice fitting 7x6 TH on the heel... Epoxied down and when it was removed from the wax there was a nice little shrinkage.
Image

Redo!
Here you can see where I removed that knot- under it as an added base is an 11x6 TH single pass epoxied down with some added thread in the middle for more roundness.
Image

Here is the new knot ready to be tightened down.
9x7 TH two pass. (Single pass in this picture)

Here's the finished result, except for the abrasion serving on the English Eye.

It was my privilege to work on this project, and I had the opportunity to gain more varied experience in knot tying as well.
It'll crack ;)

Great job Whippy Sistah. Knots are so hard, especially if you cant use a jig. Almost every whip I have done, I have had to do the knots more than once. You did a great job.

Good job on the knots. They sure can be a booger bear but you handled them nicely.
They look very good.
The end of the handle is so personalized.
Over all an excellent job.

ahaha thank you! Seriously though, I really respect the fact that you didn't like the last one, so you covered it up and redid a bigger one! :O Love how it looks though, nice and big :D

Rachel, that looks great! My Little Man is going to be so excited! Thank you so much for your work on this project.
I'll give it a try, Dad, but it's going to be really hard...kind of like trying to saw something in half using a banana.

Outstanding work Rachel!
The initials at the heel of the whip look very cool and I realy like the way you've made the heel knot foundation (with a epoxied and bound TH as the foundation - very solid and very symetrical)!
Both knots (and all the other components of this whip) look fantastic - my compliments to your work!

All the best

A little project I've been working on.
I did not make the fall, I borrowed it temporarily from one of my other whips.
Note this is my first leather whip, my strand cutting isn't the best.
Also, I chose not to bevel the edges as my little handmade beveled needs some adjusting.

18" handcut bocoté handle finished with tung oil. 4' 12 plait kangaroo hide stock whip. Completely kangaroo, including bolsters. This was made with one full hide.
