  Whip Swap results

Post by Robby Amper »

.

I think, by now the whip swap is completed now. I didn't wanted to post it in another thread, just to make sure we keep things separated. I was hoping that Alex Lewis could do this - he started that great thing! - but his last post was one month ago. I'd like to know now if everybody is happy. If everybody has his/her whip.

Post your ideas and thoughts on the whole thing right here, please. And then - when we know if really everything's cool for everybody - we can see what we're going to do next year.

Robby, I feel it was a valuable tool for many people to have their work critiqued. Everyone appears happy, so I think it was an overall success

I think it was a great idea! I would probably participate in any future swaps we have. Sure some got busy and ended up a bit late but I think they tried there best, and I'm willing to put up with that! :)

Robby,

I cannot begin to express my joy from being involved in this whip swap! I was so happy to be included. The whole time I was plaiting the whip I was to send out I was grinning ear to ear. I kind of had the feeling that, although not up to Bob's own standards, it would be liked. Found out just how right I was this very morning! I wrote another post on that. Everyone seemed to enjoy it from my viewpoint. It also brought many of us so much closer to one another! The discussion back and forth during the whole thing, waiting eagerly to see what each person got and who sent it. I'd say it was a huge success. Thank you Alex for such a remarkable idea and flawless execution on keeping everything in line. Thank you Robby for allowing us to have this shared great adventure!

Having said all that... LET'S DO IT AGAIN!!

I am satisfied with the swap, it was certainly a good experience for myself, and a valuable tool all around. The change of mood in the forum coincided well with the swap, the real names and faces policy certainly helps with trust in an event like this I believe.

Would I participate again? Absolutely.

It was a great experience Robby. A whip has arrived in my possesion, but I haven't had much time to produce a review on it. I'll try to get it done and posted this weekend.

I will definitely participate in the next whip swap, this one seems to have run pretty smoothly.

I loved the whole thing.
It was so great making a whip for another whipmaker.
I also was so happy to receive my whip from Bobbi. I knew from day one who's whip I was receiving but it did not reduce the excitement at all. I hope to do a video review soon.
Unless I have missed something: At this time ,unfortunate, I believe there is one person in the group that has not received their whip, I hope that this changes soon. If not, I will volunteer to make one to replace the missing whip.
I thing this was will worth while.

Carl, that is extremely generous of you. I hope it does not come to that but it's an amazing offer - the informal WB Forum Members Only Ring of Trust?

EDIT:
Come to think of it, possibly taking up a collection to send money for shipping would be enough? I'm not sure if that is the main hold-up or just an incidental difficulty at this point.

Very kind of you Carl, I would be willing to contribute to a collection for shipping as Johnathan has suggested.

Who didn't get his whip by now?

2.
I'll contribute, too, of course.

Actually, looking over the posts, I believe everyone should have their whip now. Gideon and Keanu have both received their whips haven't they?

I had a good time doing it too. It was something really fun to look at all the progress and teaser pictures. I'm enjoying the reviews as well.

I was on f the stragglers so if I do it next time I will certainly have to mark the deadline on the calendar!

This has been a great experience. I had fun trying a few new things and I absolutely love my Hunt Whip from Carl. Every whip was unique and individualized, but I think Carl's was the most creative. It has a deer antler on the butt! How Cool Is That!

I would definitely participate again!

I believe that Gideon has not received or I have misssed something.
I agree with Jonathan and would help with shipping.

I loved it! Those of us who were late, it was due to circumstance, not dishonesty or trying to weasel out, and I think everybody is willing to account for that ( I am) . I would absolutely participate again, and I would love to see this become annual. I'd kick in a contribution too for our remaining whip.

I would chip in for shipping too. Maybe that is one thing we should think about for next time. Some people are going to have to ship to a different country no matter who's name they draw. I would be willing to donate a few bucks to a paypal account to help even out the shipping for everyone.

Thanks for the info. I sent email to Pokkis. I totally understand his situation, but I also see that we had an agreement, here. I hope we can find a way that brings everything back on track. I would take care of sending the money for shipping to Pokkis.

But before we do that - before you send me any money - let's wait for Pokkis, okay? He's an honorable guy with a big problem.
