@ Craig Frank:

My greatest compliments to you for your whips that you have presented in this thread Mr. Frank !!!
You have totaly nailed the theme of the American flag and the double diamond pattern on the handle looks very tight (the only feature that I could think of to make it look even more American would be a Washington eagle on the end of the heel knot) - great Job !!!

All the best

Thank you, Ben. If I was more skilled in plaiting design I would have gone with a pattern that more accurately represented stars. But I think this gets the point across.

I'm not happy with the end results. Instead of the American flag, it looks more like circus colors.

The whip itself came out pretty good, other than my usual slight twisting and dropped strand gaps.

I actually think that looks pretty good Craig. Lovely straight plaiting, no twist that I can see in the thong and a good taper. Maybe tuck that tail of the heel knot strand back under to tidy it up?

Craig it's good to see you making a whip again, I love a thick heavy whip! I can't plait a double diamond to save my neck.

I like this whip, it shows improvements. What do you think about the way it moves?

Great! I see it straighter plaited than before with less gaps. It looks good, and if you feel an improvement in the way it moves too, that's a win-win! I like it.

Ron - no, I didn't wax it. It would have ruined the white. It's pretty stiff without the wax. I think I'll just scotch guard it again like I did a previous white one.

Craig, I really like the colors on the Tiffany whip overlay.
Light blue and silver?

Thank you, Rachel and Ron. I forget exactly what shade of blue it is. Here's the foundation drying for the night, along with my daughter's, who finally finished her first whip. Tomorrow we'll do the knots and wax them.
