Right now I'm working on a red and white whip for my daughter's band to raffle. Hopefully I can figure out the picture issue soon so a can post photos of it.

Craig, when you use imgur just click on the BBcode for forums then just paste into the forum "write message" part.
It adds the img brackets automatically. (I think)

Doesn't show for me Craig. I just learned last week that you can preview your post to see if the pics come through here. On imgur I think I copied the "direct" link and posted it in the image brackets here and that worked.

Thank you. It took me a minute to find where on the app to get the direct link. I need to play catch up on posting pics.

I recently made a whip for my daughter's School band to raffle. The colors were red and white with black knots. Unfortunately, I failed to take a picture of the final product. I'll try to get pictures of it when they have their concert. Because I did a two colored striped thong, and because I used the crown start, I ended up having to do a massive heel knot.

I couldn't get this pattern to work, so I had to switch to the diamond plait.

Looks good Craig! I like the pattern... How big was the heel knot? I'm a fan of big heel knots, myself.

The Arizona whip was raffled last night and won by one of my coworkers. Coincidentally, the same one who does stained glass and told me about the Army MWR contest.

Craig - what happened to that idea? I was really curious to see what it'll become.

Hi Robby :)
I think I recall Craig said something somewhere that he doesn't have a drill press for drilling the hole to put the rod in the horn handle, and was working on a solution for that.

Robby - I'm sorry. I'm stuck on that one and it's actually holding up all other whips. First I had two whips I had to rush through, causing me to put that one on hold. Then, while I was making the other two, I started thinking more and more about whether or not simply using epoxy to hold less then tell inches of the metal handle into the antler would be strong enough for all of the stress that the handle experiences. I'm thinking that it won't. I've been fretting over a solution and that's been keeping me from progressing in anything. I'm thinking maybe keep the whip short, like four feet, or epoxy it in and cover the transition with a larger, super tight knit.

In addition, I literally haven't had a weekend off for months. I know that I've got free time here and there to work on it, but the conundrum had sapped my creative energy. We start the holiday schedule tomorrow, so hopefully I can dedicate some time to it. I really want to get it done soon so I can surprise someone with it.

I'm sorry for the procrastination and whining. I'll try to get to work on it.
